Lucky Turtle – Free Crochet Pattern

This turtle is crocheted with a shamrock on his back. He is completely no-sew.

You will need:
– Yarn (I used Hobbii Honey Bunny) in green and an accent colour
– Crochet hook (I used a 6mm)
– Eyes and stuffing
– Darning needle, scissors

Lucky Turtle

Flippers – Make 4 in silver (or your accent colour)
1 – MC 6sc (6)
2 – Inc (12)
3 – Sc, inc (18)
4 – Fold in half. 9 sc around the semi circle.

Head – In same colour as the flippers.
1 – MC 6sc (6)
2 – Inc (12)
3 – Sc, inc (18)
4 – Sc (18)
5 – Sc (18)
6 – Sc (18)
7 – Sc (18) Add eyes between rows 3-4. Stuff.
8 – Sc, dec (12)
9 – Dec (6)
10 – FO

Shell – In green
1 – MC 8 sc (8)
2 – In the BLO – Sc, inc (12)
3 – Sc, inc (18)
4 – 2sc, inc 24
5 – 3sc inc (30)
6 – Sc (30)
7 – Change to brown BLO 2sc, 2sc through fin, 4sc, 2sc through fin, 3sc, 2sc through head opening, 3sc, 2sc through fin, 4sc, 2sc through fin, sc to end
8 – 3sc, dec (24)
9 – 2sc, dec (18) stuff the turtle
10 – Sc, dec (12)
11 – Dec (6)
12 – FO use yarn tail to close the turtle

4 Leaf clover

This is worked in the 8 front loops at the start of row 2. Rejoin yarn here.

In stitch 1 – sc, hdc, dc, tc

In stitch 3 – sc, hdc, dc, tc
In stitch 4 – tc, dc, hdc, sc, ss
In stitch 5 – sc, hdc, dc, tc

FO – darn in yarn tails

Frill

Picking up along the large row of FLO stitches, 2hdc in each stitch. (60) FO.
