Music Note Beanie – Knitting Pattern

Here’s a hat that proclaims a love of music.

You will need:
Size 4mm needles
Size 5mm needles
3 colours of dk yarn

Musician Beanie

Cast on 80 in colour 1 (rainbow) on 4mm needles
Rib 10 rows

Change to 5mm needles and colour 2 (blue)
Knit 2 rows

Change to colour 3 (orange)
1- Knit
2- Knit
3- K1, (yrn, k2 tog) repeat bracketed section to the last stitch, k1
4- Knit
5- repeat row 3
6- knit
7- repeat row 3
8- knit


Change to colour 1
Knit 2 rows

Change to colour 2
Knit
Purl
Insert chart in stst – chart repeats over 20 stitches. 4 charts per row.

Purl – cut off colour 2


Change to colour 3
Knit 2 rows – cut off colour 3

Change to colour 1
Knit
Purl
K3, k2 together over the whole row
Purl
K2, k2 together over the whole row
Purl
K1, k2 together over the whole row
Purl
K2 together over the whole row
Purl
K2 together over the whole row
Cut yarn, leaving 30cm, thread all stitches onto the yarn, pull to tighten

Stitch up the back of the hat and attach tassels or a pom-pom.
