Basket-weave Dish or Wash Cloth – Knitting Pattern

Published by

on

I admit to loving knitted washcloths! This pattern makes a soft, gorgeous cloth perfect for the shower. The cool zig-zag pattern comes from the ombré yarn- from Peaches and Creme.

You will need:
1 ball cotton yarn
Size 4mm needles

Cast on 40 stitches

1- knit row
2- purl row
3- purl 4, knit 2, repeat to end
4- knit 4, purl 2, repeat to end
5- knit row
6- purl row
7- purl 1, (knit 2, purl 4). Repeat bracketed section to the last 3 stitches, knit 2, purl 1
8- knit 1, (purl 2, knit 4). Repeat bracketed section to the last 3 stitches, purl 2, knit 1

Repeat these 8 rows until 52 rows are completed (six and a half repeats, if at makes sense)

Cast off

Crochet the tail into a loop to create a hanger.
Darn in the other tail.
