The Knit Guru

Welcome to the 12days of Christmas from the Knit Guru. Over the next 12 days I will share 12 free original knitting patterns with Xmas flair that you can complete in a day (roughly… one may take a little longer for beginners) but mostly in an hour or so. These can be gifted, used as decor or well, let your imagination reign.

Day 1- we are making this super cute antler headband. There are 4 knitted components, and a headband. This is probably the most technical of all the knits this year in the countdown as it involves increasing, decreasing, holding stitches separate, knitting flat and in the round. But don’t let it put you off, you can do this.

You will need:

• 3 balls of yarn in brown, cream and beige in DK
• 4mm straight and dpn needles
• Darning needle
• Headband – I prefer the ones with the teeth…
• Stuffing
• 2 pipe cleaners

This pattern has just been released over on Instructables for their fibre arts contest, but it’s still available free. When the contest is over, I’ll edit this post to include all the instructions. If you wouldn’t mind voting for the headband over on their site, that would be great.
