These booties have been a popular pattern on my site for years…. so it was time for an update and a video tutorial. These are knitted flat and seamed up the bottom and the back of the bootie. Clearly you will need to make 2 for a pair….
There is a video tutorial here on my YouTube channel
This pattern is also available for free over on Ribblr if you prefer an interactive pattern format.
You will need:
– 1 ball 4ply baby wool. Always look for machine washable. New parents don’t need to have to think about separate loads of washing. One ball will make many pairs
– 3.00mm needles
– Ribbon (or braided yarn for the tie)
Beginning at the bottom of the foot.

Creating the top of the bootie. You can 100% change this section. Maybe alternate colours every 2 rows for a striped bootie.
Knit 20 rows.
Cast off leaving a long yarn tail to sew up the sides.
Sewing up your bootie.
Fold in half, and sew up the bottom and side of the bootie. Fold the top of the bootie over, creating a cuff. Thread ribbon or twisted yarn through the holes to tie.
