Okay, so the knitting of mice has taken over my life a little…. but I did think that this tiny sugar mouse would be a cute addition to the Valentines knit collection.
You will need:
– 3.5mm double pointed knitting needles
– DK weight yarn in pink or white
– 2 tiny safety eyes

Cast on 3 stitches, join in the round
Cast on 3 stitches in red – spread out over the 3 needles.
Row 1: knit
Row 2: knit front and back of every stitch (6 stitches – 2 on each needle)
Row 3: knit
Row 4: knit 1, knit 1 front and back (9 stitches – 3 on each needle)

At this point, insert the eyes in around row 6-7
Row 19: knit 2 together – repeat over the whole row (3 stitches on each needle – 9 in total)
Row 20: knit
Stuff the mouse at this point.
Row 21: knit 3 together – repeat over whole row. Slip all stitches onto one dpn to begin the icord tail.
Row 22-44: icord – knit all the rows
Row 45: Knit 3 together, cut yarn and thread the tail through the loop. Pull tight.
Ears
Cast on 4 stitches
Row 1: Knit all the stitches
Row 2: Purl 2 together over whole row – 2 stitches remain
Cut the yarn with a short yarn tail, pass through remaining stitches and pull tight.
Stitch the ears to the top of the head.
Bow
Using the crochet hook, chain 20cm. Fold into a bow, and stitch this to the base of the tail.
