This beanie started as a challenge, but ended up being a super hit, and now I am sharing the pattern.

There is a Youtube video for this project here:
There is also a Ribblr interactive pattern here: https://ribblr.com/pattern/cable-beanie-Knitting?referrer=356843
You will need:
– 4mm knitting needles – circular
– Cable needle
– DK weight yarn – I used 2 50gm balls
– Darning needle and scissors
Knitting terms used in this pattern:
C4F = Cable 4 Front: Slip next 2 sts purlwise onto a cable needle and hold in front of work; knit the next 2 sts from left needle, then knit the 2 sts from cable needle.
CDD = Center Double Decrease: sl2-tog knitwise, K1, pass the 2 slipped stitches over the knit stitch (1 stitch dec’d)
Cast on 108 (120) stitches
Ribbing – 2×2 knit and purl rib for 26 (30) rows
The following are the 12 rows of the pattern for the main section of the hat:
1-5: Knit 4, purl 2
6: C4F, purl 2, knit 4, purl 2 – rep
7-11: Knit 4, purl 2
12: Knit 4, purl 2, C4F, purl 2 – rep
Complete these 12 rows of the pattern 4 (5) times.

- K3, P2, K1, K2tog, K1, P2

- Cut yarn, leave a 25cm tail, thread yarn through the remaining stitches and pull tight. Darn in your ends.
