As a quick knit, there is nothing easier than super chunky yarn. Here is a cushion that knits quickly, looks cool, and is shaped like a cracker or a bon-bon.
You will need:
- Super chunky yarn
- 20mm knitting needles
- Giant cable needle (or a marker to use as a cable needle)
- Darning needle
- Fabric square
- Stuffing
- Sewing machine (or needle, thread and patience)
Cast on 26 stitches.
Row 1: Purl 10, Cable 2 forward (Place 2 stitches on a cable needle to the front, knit 2, then knit the stitches from the cable needle), knit 2, purl 10
Row 2: Knit 10, purl 6, Knit 10
Row 3: Purl 10, Knit 2, Cable 2 backward (Place 2 stitches on a cable needle to the back, knit 2, then knit the stitches from the cable needle), purl 10
Row 4: Knit 10, purl 6, Knit 10
Repeat these rows until you have a square, or until you have used all the yarn.
Cast off.
Cut a square of fabric the same size as the knitting. Gather the ends as shown. Stitch up the side seam, leaving a hole to stuff. Turn in the right way. Stuff the cushion, and sew up the hole.
Take your knitted piece. Sew up the side seam of the cushion. With a length of yarn thread through the ends about 5 stitches from the edge and gather creating the ends of the bon-bon shape.
