Pokemon Go Community Day – Free Luvdisc Knitting Pattern

Today is a special Pokemon Go Community Day – where for a few hours the community is encouraged to get together and play the game. There will be bonuses and things like that. Very exciting.

In honour of this day, I thought it was time to release a Pokemon knitting pattern. This guy has been popping up recently around and about, though I haven’t actually caught one yet. Hopefully I’ll get one by Valentines Day, and Luvdisc is not only a cute pokemon, he is also heart shaped and very sweet. So you could also make this for your Pokemon-loving Valentine. (Or make a ‘Shiny’ one in yellow to show how much you know about Pokemon)

For other free Pokemon knitting patterns, you can also find these hats on my site:  There will be more to follow later this year.

You will need:

  • 4mm straight knitting needles
  • DK yarn in pink, and pale pink
  • 2 black safety eyes
  • Stuffing
  • Darning needle

Starting at the tail end, you need 4 of the following shapes on one needle. Knit them one at a time.

Cast on 3 stitches in bright pink. (*if making a Shiny version cast on in a golden yellow)

  1. Knit front and back, knit front and back, knit 1 (5 stitches)
  2. Purl whole row
  3. Knit front and back, knit 2, knit front and back, knit 1 (7 stitches)
  4. Purl whole row
  5. Knit front and back, knit 4, knit front and back, knit 1 (9 stitches)
  6. Purl whole row
  7. Knit front and back, knit 6, knit front and back, knit 1 (11 stitches)
  8. Purl whole row
  9. Knit front and back, knit 8, knit front and back, knit 1 (13 stitches)
  10. Purl whole row

Slide all 4 sections together. You will now knit this as one. (52 stitches) Where the 2 sections meet, I like to knit the last and first stitch together of each section in the front and back. It doesn’t increase or decrease any overall stitches this way, and it kinda anchors the knitting together nicely which is handy with amigurumi.

Stitching up the side of the heart shape tucking the tails at the top into the heart itself. Before you finish, stuff the Luvdisc, careful to keep it reasonably narrow.

And here is a shiny version: (Shiny versions are rare versions in the original game)
