In the category of ‘knitting patterns you didn’t know you needed” this lemon surely takes the cake. It’s a quick knit, and potentially a pointless one. I gave mine a face. I was tempted to give him arms and legs. However, I stopped at the face.
You will need:
– 4mm double pointed knitting needles
– DK yarn in Yellow and Green
– Stuffing
– Optional – eyes
Lemon body
Cast on 3 stitches in yellow – place one on each needle
Kfb in each stitch (2 on each needle)
Knit 2 rounds
Kfb in each stitch (4 on each needle)
Knit 1 round
Kfb in each stitch (8 on each needle)
Knit 1 round
Kfb, knit 1, repeat over whole row (12 on each needle)
Knit 16 rounds
K2 tog, knit 1, repeat over the row (8 stitches on each needle)
Knit one round
Attach the eyes if using safety eyes. Stuff the lemon at this point.
K2tog over whole row (4 stitches on each needle)
Knit one round
K2tog over whole row (2 stitches on each needle)
Knit two rounds
Knit 3 together, cut yarn with 20 cms remaining, thread through the stitch, pull tight to secure. Darn in the yarn tail.

Knit (without removing from needle), yarn over, knit the stitch again – 3 stitches
Purl
Knit 1, Knit (without removing from needle), yarn over, knit the stitch again, knit 1 (5 stitches)

Knit 2, Knit (without removing from needle), yarn over, knit the stitch again, knit 2 (7 stitches)

Cut yarn, thread through remaining stitch, pull tight, stitch to top of lemon
