If you are ever in need of a quick knitted gift, this chunky cable blanket always packs a punch. It knits up quickly on chunky yarn, and can be made with different colours or the same shade throughout. It will end up being a great size for a lap blanket or a throw.

You will need:
– 7 balls super chunky yarn (I used Lion Brand Hometown)
– 15mm knitting needles (I used a circular needle for length)
– 15mm cable needle
– Darning needle
Cable A: Slip 3 onto cable needle and hold in front, knit 3, knit 3 from the cable needle, knit 3
Cable B: knit 3, slip 3 onto cable needle and hold to the back, knit 3, knit 3 from the cable needle.
Cast on 66 stitches

Repeat these 8 rows over the course of the blanket for all 7 balls of wool. Leave enough yarn to knit 2 rows and then cast off the blanket.
Darn in your yarn tails, and it is good to go.
Beautiful pattern.
