This is a pattern I developed for last Mothers’ Day, for all the mums in my life, yet, I never quite got the pattern released. It was always meant to be put together with a video tutorial and a chart.

Finally it is done…. and here is the pattern.

Cast on 1 stitch using 3mm knitting needles and 4ply yarn
Cast on 1
- Knit into the front, yarn over, knit the front again (3 stitches)
- Knit
- Knit front and back, knit 1, knit front and back (5)
- Knit
- Knit front and back, knit 3, knit front and back (7)
- Knit
- Knit front and back, knit 5, knit front and back (9)
- Knit
- Knit front and back, knit 7, knit front and back (11)
- Knit
- Knit front and back, knit 9, knit front and back (13)
- Knit
- Knit front and back, knit 1, knit front and back (15)
- Knit
These next 6 rows are the repeating lace pattern:
- Knit 5, yo, ssk, k1, k2tog, yo, knit 5
- Knit 3, purl to last 3, knit 3
- Knit 4, yo, ssk, k3, k2tog, yo, knit 4
- Knit 3, purl to last 3, knit 3
- Knit 3, yo, ssk, k5, k2tog, yo, knit 3
- Knit 3, purl to last 3, knit 3
Repeat rows 15-20 until there are 13 repeats of the pattern.

Using the yarn tail and another length of yarn, braid a tail on each end of the bookmark.
Wetblock or steam block the bookmark into shape.
