Sometimes you just need a quick knitted project. These are super cute, and only take a few minutes (once you get the hang of them). They are perfect for back to school or as stocking stuffers.
You will need:
- 3 x 4mm double pointed knitting needles
- DK yarn (fluffy is good)
- Stuffing (tiny amount)
- Pencil
- Darning needle
- Black yarn for details (eyes etc)
Cast on 8 stitches, 4 on each needle. You need 3 dpn for this project.
Knit 16 rows
Knit into the front and back of all the stitches, increasing your overall stitch total to 16 stitches, 8 on each needle.
Knit 6 rows.
K2 tog over whole row. (8 stitches remain on the needles)
K2 tog over whole row. (4 stitches remain)
Cut yarn, thread through the remaining 4 stitches, pull to tighten.
Arms- make 2
Cast on 3 on dpn. You only need 2 dpn for the arms.
Icord for 6 rows.
Cut yarn, thread through the 3 stitches, pull to tighten
To assemble:
Pull the top yarn from the top of the head tight, and stitch to hold the top securely closed.
Stuff the head of the pencil friend.
Stitch below the stuffing to hold the stuffing in the head. Insert the pencil, as it makes it easier to stitch the arms and ears.
Stitch on the arms, darning in the tails.
Pull a section of the head out, and stitch to form the ears.
Embroider on 3 eyes and a nose in black yarn.
I am apparently completely computer dumb. I cannot figure out how to copy this pattern or the one for the tiny bat. could you possibly help me???
