More and more I keep seeing this cardigan popping up on my newsfeed. I also see the strawberry dress (oh how I want that dress!). And more and more I see people asking for tutorials or patterns for it. While I don’t have issue with recreating patterns inspired by things, when they are items that can be purchased, I tend not to work on a pattern.
However, this cardigan has come full circle. I was sitting on Youtube and there it was… a tutorial from the designer itself. A video and a knitting pattern.
While I am not a card-wearing type human (or at least, I don’t think I am), I can see the appeal of the chunky knit. There have been a lot of people teaching themselves to crochet to make this jumper – which I do think is cool.
So the purpose of this post is simple – to share with all of you the knitting pattern from JW Anderson of the Harry Styles Cardigan. And the knitting tutorial. As I am sure many of you won’t have stumbled across this yet, and may be dying to sink your teeth into it.
Going the extra mile as fan service is just the kind of kindness we all need right now. If you search on Youtube you’ll find so many people knitting this for their friends, which warms my heart.
A gift from Jonathan to all our TikTok Cardigan fans: “I am so impressed and incredibly humbled by this trend and everyone knitting the cardigan. I really wanted to show our appreciation so we are sharing the pattern with everyone. Keep it up!” x – Jonathan

Love the jacket, but i think the finish is a bit messy but i suppose it is meant to be that way. Even for beginning knitters the finish could be a bit “cleaner”.
Ikr – for something that was so iconic, you would expect that it would be more “put together”
