Happy new year everyone! It’s been another tough year of highs, and lows, and such busy-ness. I hope 2018 can be more productive.
I am a big planner addict. Over the last year I have developed a long-winded system of planning across 4 paper planners and online… such is life. But the system is working. I have also designed a whole series of planner pages that work with me. I’ll link a download of these here if you are interested.
So I thought it apt to begin the year with a New Year’s Resolution – to be organised, particularly with blog postings and to get the newsletter back up and running after a long hiatus.
For now, here is a tiny knitting pattern for a planner pin heart. This was made out of these adorable poppets balls that I was gifted a while back, and I needed to find a function for them.
Tiny Planner Heart
You will need:
- Poppets yarn ball (4ply yarn)
- 2.5mm needles
- Darning needle
- Small amount of stuffing
- Large paperclip
Top bumps – you will need 4 on the same needle.
Cast on 1 stitch.
- Knit front, yarn over, knit the back (3 stitches)
- Purl whole row
- Knit front and back, knit front and back, knit 1 (5 stitches)
- Purl whole row
Slide all 4 sections together. You will now knit this as one.
- Knit row
- Purl row

- Purl row
- Knit 1, SSK, knit 4, k2tog, knit 2, ssk, knit 4, k2tog, knit 1

- Purl row
- Knit 1, SSK, k2tog, knit 2, ssk, k2tog, knit 1
- Purl row
Cut yarn with 30cm remaining. Thread onto darning needle, pull tight. Fold heart in half, stitching up the side of the heart tucking the tails at the top into the heart itself.
Stuff it at this point, and thread the end of the paperclip through the bottom of the heart.
