The movie “Small Foot” is out, and Migo is a friendly Yeti. Here is a pattern for a Migo hat.
You will need:
- White DK yarn
- Blue DK yarn
- 4mm circular knitting needle
- Darning needle
- Stuffing
The Hat itself
You can make any style of hat you like. However, this is what I did.
Cast on 100 stitches in white.
Knit 2, purl 2 rib. Complete this rib style over 14 rotations.
Change to knit stitches. Knit 36 rows. You can increase this for a longer hat if you prefer.

Cut yarn, leaving 30cm, thread all stitches onto the yarn, pull to tighten
Horns
For the horns you can make them like I have, or if you prefer slightly longer horns, use the pattern here for the Viking helmet horns. You’ll need to make 2 horns.
Cast on 1 stitch in blue.
Knit front, yarn round needle, knit in the back of the stitch (3 stitches)

Stockinette stitch 6 rows.
Cast off
Fold the horns in half. Stitch up from the point to the base of the horn. Stuff the horn. Stitch them onto the hat on opposites sides.
With the white yarn, wrap it around your hand a few times. Stitch this wrapped section onto the top of the hat like a tassel. You will need to do this firmly so that it doesn’t come off. When it is attached, trim the ends to create a fringe.
