Halloween costumes…. always a fine balance in the northern hemisphere between looking good and being warm. Here in the southern hemisphere it is really about just the cooler nights rather than it moving into winter. So here are my list of Halloween Costume knits that will keep you cozy as you trick or treat. Next week will be a directory of Halloween knitted decor…. or at least, not-so-spooky spooky knits
Beard Hat – for babies
Beard Beanie – for bigger people
Why not dress as a lumberjack, complete with beard? All the best people have beards. Perfect for infants and adults alike.

Or, add the beard to this horned beanie.

Everything seems to be coming up Pokemon again, with the mobile game on a roll, and the new DLC dropping around Halloween. Theres also a who swag of Pokemon themed knits available here too.
There is also this Pokeball beanie which is perfect if the kids are going with the popular anime this year.

Gru, Minions and the Gurls. These patterns have been staples of the Halloween scene for a few years. Perfect for a whole family. The Edith Beanie is very popular at this time of year (and I do feel slightly guilty not re-listing it on Etsy for sale…. but I am directing “Robin Hood” opening at the end of October.)

I don’t think I can make a list of costumes without listing Doctor Who…. much too much of a fan. Bonus points because you could make slippers to wander about the house in. There is a pattern for this Amelia Pond hat if you just want to wait for the Doctor (don’t we all), a Tardis beanie if you wish to be the box itself, and other pieces that can co-ordinate with that very long scarf….

With the Rings of Power blasting all over Amazon Prime, why not jump down the LOTR bandwagon. This scarf from “The Hobbit” knits up super quickly and does the job of keeping you warm as well.
Harry Potter is another easy addition to the list. Dress in your Hogwarts robes and add this House Scarf (complete with pockets!) or go as Newt or Tina from Fantastic Beasts…. You can even add the Niffler or Bowtruckle from here.
Or when you feel like you have to dress up but you really don’t want to, here are my favourite additions. Why not just be Lorelai Gilmore and wait for the first snow in this hat inspired from the reboot on Netflix. Or take a lawn chair and these mittens, and be Bernie Sanders at the inauguration. Both iconic.
